QSIR Ltd Management Consultancy | Financial Modelling | Project Planning
About QSIR Ltd
QSIR Ltd (a play on "Thank you, Sir" from the Ask Jeeves era) was incorporated on 15th July 2019 as a specialist management consultancy focused on financial modelling, strategic project planning, and corporate advisory services. The company draws upon decades of accumulated expertise in structuring complex joint ventures, developing funding models, and providing rigorous financial analysis for capital-intensive projects.
Our core competencies include three-year financial projections (P&L, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet modelling), shareholder agreement structuring, project leverage optimisation, and investment-grade business planning. We specialise in sectors where technical knowledge and financial acumen must work in tandem—particularly energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, and property development.
Strategic Partnership: Zero Energy Systems Ltd
QSIR Ltd operates in strategic partnership with Zero Energy Systems Ltd, a joint venture established with Phil Woodman (company name changed 19th April 2012). This collaboration brings together complementary expertise in energy systems, international project development, and environmental technology commercialisation.
Phil Woodman brings extensive experience in renewable energy systems, international business development, and cross-border project management. His LinkedIn profile can be found at:

International Experience: Turkish Energy Projects (2012-2018)
Between 2012 and 2018, the Zero Energy Systems partnership undertook multiple visits to Turkey, engaging directly with Turkish Ministers of Energy on critical environmental and energy recovery challenges. The primary focus was addressing methane leakage from abandoned coal mines and waste disposal sites—a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions with substantial energy recovery potential.
This work involved technical assessment of methane capture opportunities, financial modelling of gas-to-energy conversion projects, and navigation of international regulatory frameworks. The partnership established valuable connections with Turkish academic expertise, including collaboration with Serdar Celebi, providing essential local knowledge and technical validation for proposed solutions.
Coal mine methane recovery represents both an environmental imperative (methane has 28 times the global warming potential of CO2) and an economic opportunity. The Turkish projects exemplify our approach: identifying where waste streams can become value streams through rigorous technical and financial analysis.
Foundation Experience: Watersons Management Consultancy Ltd
The expertise underpinning QSIR Ltd was forged during the period 1990-1995 at Watersons Management Consultancy Ltd (now dissolved), a management and financial consultancy practice operated in partnership with Tony Lawrence.
Tony Lawrence brought complementary skills in corporate strategy and financial structuring. His LinkedIn profile can be found at:

Core Competencies Developed
During the Watersons period, the partnership developed deep expertise in:
Corporate Joint Ventures: Structuring collaborative business arrangements that align incentives, manage risk allocation, and create sustainable value for all parties. This includes due diligence processes, governance frameworks, and exit strategy planning.
Shareholder Agreements: Drafting and negotiating agreements that protect shareholder interests whilst enabling operational flexibility. Key elements include voting rights, dividend policies, drag-along and tag-along provisions, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
Funding Models: Developing comprehensive financial structures incorporating debt facilities, equity arrangements, mezzanine finance, and project finance principles. This includes sensitivity analysis, covenant structuring, and refinancing strategies.
Project Leverage: Optimising capital structures to maximise returns whilst maintaining appropriate risk profiles. This encompasses gearing ratios, security packages, and cash flow waterfall structures.
Our Approach
QSIR Ltd combines rigorous financial analysis with practical sector knowledge. We understand that successful projects require more than spreadsheet competence—they demand appreciation of technical constraints, regulatory landscapes, and market dynamics. Our track record demonstrates ability to bridge the gap between technical specialists and financial stakeholders, translating complex engineering concepts into investment-grade business cases.
Whether structuring a care home development with integrated CHP systems, modelling methane recovery from legacy industrial sites, or planning renewable energy installations, we bring the same disciplined approach: thorough due diligence, realistic assumptions, transparent risk assessment, and defensible financial projections.
